Marie Ferrer passed away in Williamsburg, VA, on July 22, 2021. She was born on December 23, 1935 in New York, NY.

She is survived by her children, Daniel Ferrer, Robert Ferrer, Russell Ferrer and Wendy Beauge; grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Kaitlin, Leigh, and Erin; great grandchildren Riley and Leo; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Marie was the daughter of Ukrainian immigrants and raised in Lower East Side in New York City. Even though she had lived in many places —Panama, California, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, and lastly Virginia— in her heart she was always a New Yorker.

She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her loyalty to her friends and her love of people. We will miss her vibrant personality, her entertaining stories, her generosity and her self-sacrifice.

In lieu of flowers the family invites you to consider making a donation in Marie’s memory to one of the causes that was close to her heart. Since she was a lifelong supporter of  the Military may we suggest a donation to Disabled American Veterans (DAV.org). As an alternative, in recognition of Marie’s passion about preserving history and historical sites, donations may be made to PreservationVirginia.org.
