Can I have a visitation and service?
Yes, there are a number of options available with our cremation packages. You can have a visitation and funeral service (with the body in a casket) before the cremation, or you can opt for a memorial service (where the body is not present) either before or after the cremation. Cremation Society of Virginia gives you more flexibility to plan the perfect tribute for your loved one.

What is the membership for?
If you want the peace of mind of having final arrangements planned, our membership is right for you. As part of the one-time $35 fee, our professional staff will walk you through the preplanning process and securely store your plans for the future. If you have questions please feel free to reach out to us.
-
How long does the cremation process take?
From beginning to end, the cremation process typically takes a few weeks. In order to accomodate families in a shorter timeframe, we do offer expedited cremation services.
-
Why does it matter that you have a private crematory?
Cremation is all about trust. Because we own and operate our own private crematory, you can trust that your loved one will never leave our care. Other providers may use a third party to actually perform the cremation, which can lead to issues. We control every part of the process, which means we can ensure every family receives the same quality, dignified, and private cremation services.
