Virginia Beach – Virginia “Ginny” Hauck Sandifer, 73, passed away peacefully at home on September 18, 2021 surrounded by family and friends.

Ginny was predeceased by her husband, Harold “Sandy” Sandifer; her parents, Bob and Peggy Hauck; and her sister, Janis Hawks Myers. Ginny is survived by her son, Matthew Sandifer (Courtney Turtle); brother-in-law, Mark Myers; nephew, Justin Hawks; and life partner/caregiver, Jud Foster.

Ginny was a 1966 graduate of Frank W. Cox High School in Virginia Beach, where she was honored as the Sweetheart Queen at the annual Cupid’s Dance.  She attended Ferrum Junior College. She was a Vice President at Virginia National Bank for many years. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, go to the beach and dance with the Virginia Beach Shag Club.

Ginny wished to thank the VA Oncology Group as well as Dr. David Woods and staff for taking such good care of her. Also, many thanks to the Kindred Hospice Group, neighbors and special friends for all their help and moral support.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 1687 Meredith Road in Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be offered at vacremationsociety.com.
