Darlene E. Stone (54) departed this life peacefully at her home surrounded by family on October 11, 2021 after a long battle with brain cancer. She was born on September 25, 1967 in Norfolk, VA.

Darlene was a devoted wife, mother, and a lover of all animals. Her love for animals set her on a path to become a professional dog groomer and stylist. She spent 16 wonderful years in this profession. Even though Darlene loved all animals, her true favorite furry friends were spiders. She was a gifted artist and enjoyed creating and seeing all types of art. She had a twisted sense of humor that got her through the toughest of times.

She was predeceased by her father David Portis, Grandmother Betty Portis, and grandfather and grandmother Ulysses & Barbara Drolet.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 30 years M. Vernon Stone, Jr., daughter, Christina Stone, son; Thomas B. Stone, mother; Debbie (Allen) Lee, sister; Diane (Richard) Marx, brother; David Jr. (Christy) Portis, grandson; Ellery, granddaughter Alika, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
