Gail McKinney Doss, 83, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2021. Gail was born March 10, 1938, in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late Robert and Alma Esleck McKinney.  She is predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Doss, and brothers, Robert McKinney, Jr., and Richard McKinney.  Left to cherish her memory are her 2 children, Michelle Osborn and Wayne Hull.

Gail did various jobs throughout her life.  She worked the last 10 years of her career as the Manager of Candy Kitchen on Atlantic Avenue; where they had the best chocolate covered oreo cookies!  She was a compassionate advocate for animals and believed in many supportive causes.  She had her faithful Lhasa Apso companion, Charlie Brown, for 20 years.  She rescued him from Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center.  She had a big heart and enjoyed the visits when friends stopped by; especially if they brought chocolate or wine!!  She was a wonderful cook and decorated the house so beautifully for the holidays.   Memories to treasure.
