John Gibbons Ennis (57) of Shadowlawn Heights, Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away suddenly at home on December 3, 2021. Predeceased by his father Frank (Buck) G. Ennis, his sister Julie Radford Ennis, his brother Eric (Bubba) M. Ennis, and brother-in-law Denny L Dingus, Jr. He is survived by his partner Cathy Ennis, his daughter Kelsey Ennis (who was the light of his life), his mother Betty R. Ennis, his sister Wendy Ennis Dingus, his (4) nephews and nieces: Katie (Terrence), Trey (Mollie), Emily (Clayton) and Bryce, his (4) great nephews and nieces: Ashby, Nolan, Nash and Niko. His Aunt Sue R. Rice and many cousins.
He was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia on January 5, 1964. He graduated from First Colonial High School. As a child, he loved traveling with his Big Daddy and Grandmother Radford. He continued to travel as an adult, his favorite place was Hawaii. John was an avid surfer, wind surfer and skateboarder in the day and he loved to fish. He was also a Master Carpenter and loved designing and working with his hands. A true animal lover, he was never without his best buddy (his dog) Cash.
John inherited his father’s willingness to help others, fixing anything, and giving back. He always needed to have the last word but enjoyed having a good laugh with all his family and friends.
The family is cherishing all the stories and moments about John’s life. He will never be forgotten and loved forever in our hearts.
