Chief Roger Dean Maynor, a proud veteran of the United States Air Force of 30 years, passed away peacefully On December 13th with his wife and daughters at his side. Roger fell from a ladder in 2014 and was never able to fully recover. He gave survival his best fight. The Son of James and Lila, Roger grew up in Beckley West Virginia. He was born June 27th 1953. Roger spent most of his early life in Charlottesville Virginia. At the age of 19, Roger enlisted in the Air Force. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. As part of this service, He has served in New Mexico, Ohio, Montana, Germany, Alaska, Honduras and many other duty stations, he also spent a great deal of time in the Philippines where he has a community of family that will miss him dearly.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Lily, that never left his side for the seven years he fought to recover. She faithfully took care of him and never gave up hope, she loved Roger dearly. He is also survived by his four daughters and their spouses, Michelle Dawn Wilton, Teri Lynn Vick, Angela Rene Tuckett and Rosemarie Risinger along with nineteen grandchildren and three great- grandchildren, with one on the way. Roger is also survived by his three siblings, Joyce, Sandy and his brother, Terry.
Roger is proceeded in death by his son, John Isaac Maynor; his parents and two sisters, Pat and Donna.
Roger was a man of Faith and principles, he was virtuous and honorable and was always helping out those in need. Roger was a humble man that served his country with honor and loyalty. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.

The Family will have a small private ceremony with military honors. The Chief will be cremated and his remains will accompany his wife back to the Philippines so that one day they will rest together again.
Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News assisted the family with arrangements.
