Anita “Paige” Paff Foster, 92, of Norfolk, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by those whom she loved and those who loved her.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond G. Paff and Emma L. Smerker. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Richard D. Foster; her son and daughter-in-law, Richard B. and Martina Foster; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth B. and Jean Foster; sister and brother-in-law, Deloris and Stanley Senchur; brother, Donald Paff; brother-in-law, Arthur Mitchell; and son in-law, Edward Biermann.
Anita was a graduate of St. Justin’s High School. She was proud to be a life-long member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, where she was in service to others for over 50 years. Anita was Altar Guild Chairman and a member of the Episcopal Church Women. Anita was an excellent seamstress; crafting linens, garments, and costumes for her family, and her talent for artistry is displayed in many paintings throughout her home. When her husband retired from the United States Navy Dental Corps she went to work alongside him for 37 years providing compassionate dental care at his private practice.
Anita was a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family and friends deeply. Her love of the Lord showed in her steadfast commitment in her service as a Christian, to her family, church, friends, their dental patients and everyone she came in contact with. She was a gracious light that shined brightly for all.
Left to cherish Anita’s memory are her daughters, Gail Biermann and Cheri Donahue (Kenneth); her seven grandchildren: Colleen Donahue (Ronald Millett), Ian Biermann (Elizabeth), Courtney Dunn (Jason), Keenan Biermann, Kenneth Foster (Logan), Cameron Foster, and Kenda Donahue; and her ten great-grandchildren: Shane Donahue (Drake Krauss), Joel, Wesley, Trent, Abigail, and Henry Millett, Jason Jr. and Jessica Dunn, Irene and Zeke Foster. Senchur; God-daughter, Eva Lynn Trump; and many nieces, nephews, and their families. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
