DA was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Van Auken. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lois G. Bailes; daughter, Toni McAndrew; grandchildren: Keegan Van Auken, Aiden Peterson, and Cara Peterson; and other beloved family members: Jeannette and Karen Gimbert, Steve and Nakina Peterson, John, Claudia & Tyler Gimbert, Pahnnee Winnemuth, Lyndsay, Lilly, and James Hamby, and Melissa Emmendorfer.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Lynnhaven Presbyterian Church, with a visitation beginning at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad or the Lynnhaven Presbyterian Church Food Pantry.
