Kenneth Leo Kaufhold, 60, of Virginia Beach passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 22 2022. He had been residing with Kindred Hospice Care during his final days, just a few miles from his home in Cromwell Park. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of Leo & Yvonne Kaufhold. He was the loving husband of Edna Moll with whom he shared 14 years of marriage & an incredible father to his son Kenneth. Ken was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving 21 years and achieving his rank as Senior Chief with countless accolades throughout his tenure. After his retirement, he became a restaurant owner and worked his last days with the Military Sealift Command for 6 years.
Ken was everything that a man could be and beyond. He worked tirelessly to provide comfort & security for his family. His love showed no boundaries, with a purity that could be felt just by merely being in his presence. He gave the best hugs. He was a true gentlemen who treated everyone with respect and kindness. Kenneth was a man of the Lord, and carried his faith with him everywhere. While he was known to have many talents and abilities to accomplish merely any task handed to him, he will be most remembered as a wonderful son, husband, brother, uncle, & father. Ken loved music on a spiritual level. He was also an avid golfer & bowler, as well as a crafty softball & billiard player. Fun times were always to be had around Ken, he really knew how to enjoy life.
In addition to his wife Edna, he is survived by his father Leo & his son Kenneth. He is also survived by his siblings: Jeff, Denise & Donna along with his nieces & nephews. Ken, you will be dearly missed, but you will always be with us in our hearts and with our spirits. Thank you for all the love and happiness you brought to our lives here on earth, may your essence carry on through everyone you reached, forever.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Friends & Family will be received one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kenneth’s memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association, P.O.
