Yorktown – Hunton Mortimer Franklin III(Bruce) Palmer, 74, passed away on January 26th, 2022. Bruce was born in Salem, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his father Hunton Mortimer Franklin Palmer II and his mother Mary Louise Duncan Palmer.
Bruce attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. There he played his favorite sport, football. He loved his time there but after graduating he wanted to serve his country and joined the armed forces. Bruce worked at Colonial Barnes and Sheds for 17 years and was always available to help his customers. He was a member of the Warwick Moose Lodge and NRA. Bruce loved to dance and spend time with his friends and family. Bruce gave his heart to God. He had an amazing voice, he loved to sing karaoke songs by Elvis and Conway Twitty. We will always hear “Hello Darlin” and know he is watching over us.
Left to cherish his memory is Carol Byrum of 25 years. His pride and joy dog, Peanut. His best friend, Bubba Byrum. His loved ones, Rachel & David Luckett, Aaron Porter, Jessica King, Teresa & Michael Walton, Ashlyn Walton, Amanda Walton, Stacy & David Poitras, Kevin Poitras and Elizabeth Poitras.
We will have a celebration of life. Due to covid, details will be sent out later.
Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News assisted the family with arrangements.
