Virginia L. Motyca, age 88, passed away on April 15, 2022, at Virginia Beach General Hospital. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on Dec. 5, 1933, to John Harris Long and Ruth Isabel Hess Long. She graduated from Troupsburg Central High School in Troupsburg, N.Y.  and Richmond Professional Institute in Richmond, Virginia. She was an Occupational Therapist at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. She married Dr. Robert Lawrence Motyca in 1955 and they were married for 62 years until he passed away on April 27, 2019. They lived in Virginia Beach, VA for 60 years.

She is survived by her two daughters, Margaret Watson (Chris) of Richmond, Virginia and Ruth Ann Parks (William) of Muscatine, Iowa; her sisters, Frances Ratcliffe of Rochester, NY, and Margery ”Midge” Edwards of Bath, NY; her brother, Dr. Raymond Long of Batavia, NY; her granddaughter, Erica Hart of Virginia Beach, VA; her grandson, Ben Parks of Davenport, IA; her great-grandson, Jack Hartman of Virginia Beach, VA; and her great-grandson, Atticus Siebert of Virginia Breach, VA.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, her sister, Ruth “Isabel” Brown, who resided in Thonotosassa, FL, and her brother, Robert Harris Long, who resided in Inverness, IL.  No funeral or memorial will be held at her request.
