George L. Bell, 48, Entered Through the Gates of Heaven on August 1, 2022.

George was born on May 3, 1974, in Waterloo, Iowa. He passed away at his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia with his family at his side. A celebration of life will take place later in Iowa.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother and stepfather, Mary and Frank Trebon; his life partner of 20 years, Brian Guild; two brothers, Nick Trebon and Josh Hagen; “The Apple of His Eye,” his nephew, Wesley Trebon; his father, Ronald Bell; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his fur baby, Kaya.

George was a loving son, life partner, brother and uncle. He could always find something good in people. He was passionate about helping the homeless. He loved family gatherings, especially Christmas. He enjoyed showing everyone his funny Christmas hat that he created for the year.

George graduated from Salem High School, in Virginia Beach, Virginia and attended Tidewater Community College upon graduation from high school.

George was a long-time member of the American Quarter Horse Association, American Paint Horse Association, Palomino Horse Club, and many other organizations. He was a professional horse trainer and judge for over 25 years. He shared his love and knowledge of horses with adults and children of all ages. He loved watching the kids and horses he trained go on to be champions.

George also worked for Land O’Lakes in milk replacement research for 10 years and worked at Friendship Haven as a Certified Nursing Assistant for three years loving each patient he cared for.

We will see you on the other side, George, and we will carry our love for you forever.

George will be missed by so many, healing thoughts and prayers to Brian, Kaya, and George's family and friends. He was special to me and my family and will be greatly missed. See you later my friend, I will forever miss our conversations, your stories and most of all your laugh and words of wisdom!

George was one of my childhood babysitters, and he was always kind and caring! I remember having lots of fun with him & my cousin Nick, and looking forward to him babysitting! May he Rest In Peace with his life celebrated as I know he’ll be missed dearly. Our thoughts are with his family. Love, McEntire Family

I remember when Uncle Brian met George and brought him over to Ann’s house so we could meet him. He was such a cool down to earth guy and was so easy to talk to. He fit right in and we always had so much fun. I loved when he laughed as he did often. He lived life to the fullest each day and we’ll always hold him in our hearts. I’m so glad he and Uncle Brian had over 20 years of happiness!!❤️

My family and I are very sorry for your loss. We have lots of wonderful memories of George. One time I went over to Mary and Frank’s and George had a fresh baked apple pie coming out of the oven, it was so delicious. Those are the kinds of thoughtful things he would do. He was so kind, and had a heart of gold. His bright smile and contagious laugh will be sorely missed. Our hearts are very heavy, we love you George. Nancy Barksdale and the Carvalho family.

I am so thankful that George was a big part of my life for many years while I was in Iowa. He was the sibling I never had. He brought much laughter and fun to my parents and me. We will always cherish those memories of him. For example, one of the last conversations I had with him, was about how he and Dad went to Dyersville, Iowa, part of the car armada at the end of the movie Field of Dreams when they filmed it here in Iowa many years ago. He still remembered how much fun they had that day. George was amazing with the horses and everything to do with the outdoors. He always put in whatever effort was needed to succeed with the horses. I have been missing him for many years. He will always be a part of us. It was such a blessing to have him those years here in Iowa. We will always cherish that time we had with him.

George was a wonderful nephew. He was deeply loved by everyone. He was kind and compassionate. He was deeply loved by everyone whose life he touched. He will be sadly missed. There will always be a special place in my heart for him. One day we will be together again. Aunt Diane.

George used to babysit my children, he was kind and had a heart of gold. God has gained another angel, my prayers are with Mary and family.

George was one of the kindest and most sincere members of our family. I will miss seeing his smile. Sending prayers of peace and comfort to Brian, Mary, and Frank during this sad time.

George will be dearly missed. I have fond childhood memories of playing with George in Iowa. He was always a good sport and endured my silly, make-believe games. George was very friendly and could start a conversation with anyone. His caring and selfless approach towards others will be missed.
