Robert Ray Bradley, Sr. (Bob) was born in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of Alfred Lewis and Edna Stone Bradley. He lived in Virginia since 1984, retiring as a Corporate Manager with Black and Decker Corporation. He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 of his 8 brothers. His remaining survivors include his wife, Kay Gibbs Bradley; his son, Robert R Bradley, Jr.; his daughter Victoria Bradley Dwyer; three grandsons, Vincent Black, Robert Bradley, III., and Zachary Dwyer; three great grandchildren, Reese Black, Chance Black and Robert Ray Bradley, IV, all living in Virginia. He has two remaining brothers, Donald Bradley of Ashland, and Ed Bradley of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was the Captain of Ashland High Football Team in 1962 and played football on a scholarship at Eastern State University, He held a bachelor’s degree in education and was certified in adaptive Physical Education. He was a coach for Special Olympics and Bay Rivers Track Club. He and his son Rob played doubles in many Pro-Am Racquetball Tournaments throughout the United States. He was appointed to the President Council on Physical Fitness by Ashland Oil Refinery when he served as their Fitness Director
He was past Governor of the Gloucester Moose Lodge for three years and Jr. Governor at the Warwick Moose Lodge. He was elected District President for three years providing technical support to District 2 Lodges. He was a member of the Hampton Roads Moose Legion and worked on many charity initiatives, especially for youth awareness.
His service will be held at Warwick Moose Lodge in Newport News on March 18, 2023. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are asked to donate to the Robert Bradley Sr. Memorial Fund, Rural Housing Partnership, P.O. Box 1688, Hayes, VA 23072.
