Georgiana Williams, 84, peacefully passed away early in the morning on April 28th, 2023 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Franklin, North Carolina to the late Frances and Rolan Guffie.

In her early career she worked for AT&T as an operator and after raising her sons, she worked for Watters and Martin, a local hardware supplier.  Later in her life she turned her love of thrifting into a job at the Union Mission Thrift Store.

 She leaves behind her 2 children. Son David Cooper and wife Genine of Virginia. Son Michael Cooper and wife Regina of Florida. 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  She also leaves behind a sister, Millie Greeves of Virginia Beach as well as nieces and nephews and many friends.  She was predeceased by her brother Thomas Anthony Guffie.

Her hobbies included thrifting, anything to do with plants and flowers, coloring, reading a good book and watching old Westerns and movies.

Georgina was known for her love of coffee, Christmas and anything second hand. She loved spending time with her son Mike and family in Florida. They enjoyed visiting Disney World and took many cruises in her lifetime.  Georgiana had many happy times with her grandchildren, playing games, watching movies and thrifting with her granddaughters. She spent the last 2 years laughing and playing with her sweet, great-grandson Wyatt.

Georgina was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed dearly and we were truly privileged to have been able to spend this time with her.

A Memorial service and celebration of Georgiana’s life will be held on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 11 AM at Crossroads Church located at 5805 Portsmouth Blvd. Portsmouth, VA  23701
