Helen Beatrice Goble Brown left this world December 28th from natural causes having lived ninety-one years. She leaves behind her oldest son Michael Steven and middle son Robert Keith, and Michael’s son, Benjamin Adam. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Hoover in 1999 and her youngest son, Richard Dale in 2017.

Helen chose to be a stay-at-home mother raising her three sons to be worthy members of society. She began a second career at United Virginia Bank in 1969 as a PBX switchboard operator. Before retiring in 1997 from what became SunTrust Bank she had advanced to Executive Assistant.

After retirement Helen traveled with her husband seeing much of the United States and bringing treasured memories and trinkets home to her children. She continued her site-seeing with her sons after the passing of her husband visiting Skyline Drive, Busch Gardens, Moyock, and the Outer Banks.

Helen remained active through the enjoyment of her children, activities with her New Song Fellowship church community, and with her Facebook friends.

Helen was immeasurably loved and cherished by her family and will be deeply missed.

Helen Brown was a joy to be around, she was one of the sweetest person and we loved her dearly. She was always smiling and only had the kindest words! We were so blessed to have been a part of Helen's life and we will forever cherish our time visiting with her. No matter where we went or how far we went, Helen always made sure that we knew she was thinking of us and our short visits we had every time we visited home (Virginia Beach) means so much more now than they did then. We look forward to our meeting again, Helen. We love you and will remember you always! Mrs. Brown was a wonderfully cheerful and caring person. I will always cherish visits with her while hanging out with her son and best friend, Dale. Her love for her sons was immeasurable. I will miss her as I am certain will her sons. My deepest sympathy for their loss but rest assured her loss is felt by all those she touched.

Sending our deepest love and sympathy. Helen was such a precious soul, always having a sweet word to say and sharing that beautiful smile. We will miss seeing her worshipping with us at New Song and we look forward to worshipping with her again some day!

Ms Helen was one of the 1st people when we moved onto Redwood 10 years ago (we are no longer there). She saw Lewis mowing the yard & she brought us fresh tomatoes. We later visited her with homemade banana bread and we were friends since. She was so very kind to us, making us feel at home in the neighborhood. She loved meeting our twin daughters & kept up with us quite a bit after we moved. Her memory will live on in our story as a new couple just starting their life together. She will truly be missed.
