Steven M. Perkins, a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and faithful friend too many, passed away on February 4, 2024, at the age of 58.
Born on June 8, 1965, Steven lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and love. He made a significant impact throughout his years, both professionally and personally. As a Government Contractor for the Department of Defense, Steven played an essential role in supporting our nation. His work took him all over the world, allowing him to experience diverse cultures and create lasting connections.
Steven’s mastery as an electrician was undeniable. His meticulous attention to detail and expertise were admired by all who worked alongside him. His dedication to his craft was unmatched, and he took great pride in every project he undertook.
Steven’s family was the center of his universe. He cherished his marriage to Tina M. Perkins for 25 years, and their bond was a testament to enduring love. Together, they raised a beautiful family. Steven was a loving father to his daughters, Jade E. Perkins (Luke), Angela D. Ferraiolo (Mark), Lauren D. Simmons, and son, Joseph M. DeMaio (Stephanie). His guidance and support shaped their lives, and his love will continue to live on in each of them.
Family meant everything to Steven, and he cherished every moment spent with his parents, Russell and Paulette Perkins. He shared a special bond with his brothers and sisters, creating countless memories together. Steven’s extended family, including his three brother-in-laws, four sister-in-laws, nine grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews, brought him immense joy. His warm heart and genuine care made him a cherished member of the family. Steven is predeceased by his brother, Daniel M. Perkins and mother-in-law, Carol A. Smilowski.
Steven’s legacy extends beyond his immediate family. He leaves behind many wonderful friends whose lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. His friendship was a true blessing, and he will forever be remembered for the love and warmth he shared.
Services to celebrate the life of Steven M. Perkins will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 10:30 am at St. Benedict’s Parish, located at 521 McCosh Drive, Chesapeake, VA 23320. A Traditional Catholic Mass will pay tribute to this remarkable individual who brightened the lives of all who knew him.
