Robert “Bob” Morrison passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024 in Virginia Beach, Va. surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born December 29, 1951 to Charles and Alice Morrison in Franklin, Penn. He was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School in Franklin, Pa. After graduating from high school, he served as a linguist in the U.S. Navy for 22 years, a career that allowed him to travel the world and make lifelong friends.
Bob met his bride Flora while serving in the Philippines and they were married 48 years. In addition to being a loving husband to Flora and father to his daughter, Jennie, he was a man of many hobbies. He enjoyed tinkering and operating his recycling and scrap business, reading books of all sorts, writing histories and stories, and spending time with family and friends. He had a very generous heart and never hesitated to help his family and friends.
He also loved serving his parish St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. Whether it was flipping pancakes for a Knights of Columbus breakfast or chatting after Mass, Bob was a devoted member of the parish for over 30 years.
Bob was predeceased by his parents and his sister Susan. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Flora, his children Jennie and son-in-law Joey, his sister Sara (Peter), his uncle Bob, his niece Judith (Thomas) and grand-niece Samantha, as well as many loving family and friends in the United States and the Philippines.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 14 at 11:00 am at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church at 3314 Sandra Ln, Virginia Beach, VA 23464, with a reception to follow.
