Sarah Imogene Savage, of Rome, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024.  After the death of her husband of 42 years, Henry Savage, Sarah moved to Virginia in 2010 to be closer to her family.  She was 94 years old.

Born to Thomas and Pearl Fancher in 1929, Sarah was the baby of five brothers and sisters, Dorothy Louise, Eunice Elizabeth, Marie Juanita, Thomas (Bubba) Richard and Felix (Pete) Ray.  They grew up in a small house, full of love, in Piper, Alabama.  As a young lady, she  moved to Gadsden, AL.  It was in Gadsden that she met and married Henry.  A few months after the birth of their only child, Susan they moved to Rome, GA and lived happily for many years.  Sarah was a key fixture in her church, serving as church secretary for 25 years.  She cared deeply for her family and neighbors.  She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was; always the first to offer help.  It was very difficult to “out give” Sarah.

Sarah is survived by her daughter, Susan, husband Tom Landrum; grandchildren, Andrew (Adrian) of Midlothian, VA and Sara (Patrick) of Hebron, KY.  Sarah’s grandchildren and their spouses were the center of her life and she was immensely proud of them all. 

The family will hold a graveside memorial service in Rome, GA in the spring where her ashes will be laid next to her sweet husband as her final resting place.  Sarah will always be remembered for her relentless devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She was a prayer warrior and never missed an opportunity to talk about Jesus to her family, friends and strangers.
