Daniel (Dan) Augustus Dollarhide, Jr., 82, passed away on March 15 at home in Williamsburg. He was born in Washington, DC to Daniel and Iva Jean Dollarhide who both preceded him in death. His sister, Jane D. Berkshire also preceded him in death in 1970.
Mr. Dollarhide was a Systems Engineer who was on the Team that automated the Library of Congress where he worked for 44 years. After a severe heart attack in 1986, he joined Mended Hearts, a heart patient support group. He was President of the group for 11 years and visited hospital patients twice a week. On moving to Williamsburg, he helped to found a Mended Hearts Chapter at Sentara Hospital and was active until he could no longer participate.
Mr. Dollarhide is survived by his wife, Carol Keith, of almost 63 years, and three children, Daniel III and wife, Sheryl, of Acworth, Georgia, Wendy Sager and husband, Hugh, of Charlottesville, Virginia, David Dollarhide and wife, Corey, of Brunswick, MD; and sisters, Jean Guentz from Gautier, MS and June Miller from Las Cruces, NM. He was blessed to have nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Remembrance Service will be held on April 8, 2024 from 2:30 to 4:00 PM at Williamsburg United Methodist Church, 500 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mended Hearts Williamsburg, Chapter 427 can be made online at mendedhearts.org.
