Stanley Peter Jakubowski, 81 years young, passed away tragically on June 6th, 2024. Born in 1942 in Jamaica, NY and raised in Malverne, NY to parents, Stanley and Josephine Jakubowski. He was whisked way to Heaven and is sorely missed by brothers, William Jakubowski  and James Jakubowski and sister, Carol Konieczko. Stanley was preceded by his wife, Helen and step-son Scott.

After attending college at Hofstra University, Stanley joined the Air Force in 1961 and served four years. Upon completing his Air Force service Stanley joined Philco Corp., as a Satellite Technician tracking satellites in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska, Thule Greenland, and the Seychelle Islands. Stan began his career with the United States Department of State where he embarked on various work assignments all over the world to name a few China, Paris, Myanmar, Brussels, Mali, and New York City at the United Nations. As a result of his career with our government, Stan learned several languages including Spanish, French, and Chinese.

His favorite hobby was private piloting allowing him along with others to fly all over the U.S. as well as Europe where he was a part of a group of pilots sharing an airplane. Stan also was an avid reader, a trait he inherited from his mother. During his career, Stan had the opportunity to enroll in Harvard University, where he received a degree in Political Science helping further his education. If you know Stan, you know he was a sweet father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend who always had great advice for living your best life.

Left to cherish his memory are, stepson, William Hallahan (Suzanne) and stepdaughter Janmari Hallahan, grandchildren;  William and Tom Hallahan, Stephanie and Bridget, Justin and Jacklyn (Scott’s children),  fiance, Janet Glasofer who has been enjoying Stan’s company for the last year. Additionally cherishing Stan’s memory are many other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and other survivors.

Additionally, Stan has received the Veteran’s honor of being placed at Arlington National Cemetery. The details for his placement and a service are to follow, but keep in mind it may take a bit of time for those arrangements to be finalized.
