Everett F. Davis passed away on September 7, 2023. Friends and family also knew him as Dave or Butch. He was a beloved husband, son, brother, grandson, uncle and friend. Dave was born in September 1947 to Everett L. and Mildred Davis in Washington, North Carolina. In addition to his parents, he is pre-deceased by his stepmother, grandparents Frank and Sadie Ange, Joe and Martha Davis, brother, Michael Davis, and brother-in-law, Walt Breckons.

Dave grew up on Woodhaven Road in Newport News but called Norfolk home. He graduated from Ferguson High School and worked in purchasing for large companies most of his life. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding purchasing department and often shared that this job was his most gratifying position. In retirement, he spent time researching his Ancestry Family Tree. He also enjoyed sitting on his porch, watching the playful antics of his beloved dogs and the many birds that came to his feeders.

Dave is survived by his wife, Donna and her family, his sister, Sharon Breckons, niece, Carol MacVaugh (Jimmy), nephew, Walter Breckons (Dawn), grandnieces; Danielle Sissell (Tyler) and Ana, Alivia and Adaline Breckons, Uncle Edward Davis (Ruth), and numerous cousins. He was blessed with special friends and caregivers, Roy Huber and his niece Sherri Jo, and lifelong friend Fran Williams who so generously welcomed Dave’s dog Mo into her home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, Virginia.
