William Atiles, a Korean Veteran and Purple Heart recipient, passed away peacefully on June 20th 2024. He was born in N YC where he resided until his retirement from NYCTA. Thirty years ago he and his wife Mercedes moved to Virginia Beach.

Surviving to treasure his memory is his wife Mercedes, son William Anthony, grand kids Jessica, Alex, his lovely wife Michelle and countless nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A memorial Mass will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church on Great Neck Road and First Colonial Road and interment at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery. Dates not yet determined.

The Family wishes to express their gratitute for the compassionate care he received in his final days at the Iris Christopher Memory Pavillion of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and from Westminster/Canterbury Hospice nurses.

Bill was a true gentleman of the old school to the very end. Loved by all who knew him for his generous spirit and loving nature. Rest in Peace, Bill, you were a great father and husband. Your memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.

The Family suggest that in lieu of flowers, donation may be made to your preferred charity.
