Joseph Gerald “Jerry” Malesky, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed member of the community, passed away on July 7, 2024, at the age of 81. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Alice, his loving children Michele and Matthew, and his cherished grandchildren Jordan, Gabrielle, and Greer.

Jerry was born on November 4, 1942, and grew up to lead a life of service and dedication. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Virginia Beach Police Department where he served for 30 years with distinction. Jerry earned the respect and admiration of all who knew him. His colleagues remember him as a dedicated officer, always ready to lend a helping hand and lead by example.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jerry was a pillar of strength and support to his family. His love and guidance shaped the lives of his children and grandchildren, who will forever carry his legacy in their hearts. In his leisure time, Jerry enjoyed golfing, fishing, spending time outdoors, and sharing his many stories with friends and family. His warm smile, knowledge and kind demeanor brightened the lives of those around him, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Jerry leaves behind a legacy of courage, compassion, and service. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he served so faithfully. A celebration of life for Jerry will be planned at a later date, to be determined.
