Sylvia Ann Stewart-Wilson, beloved daughter of the late Christopher Hall Stewart and Rosetta Harris-Stewart passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 2:25 PM at the age of 80.

Sylvia, also known as “Beanie” by many friends and family, and Chilli-Mo by her favorite Neph-son Troy Stewart, was born on November 26, 1944, in Wye Mills Maryland. Upon graduating from Kennard high school Sylvia went on to attend Chesapeake College in which she accomplished many works and completed many degree programs, including income tax preparation, interior design, computer programming, and business management.

Sylvia was a loving mother and caring housewife who enjoyed music, cooking, reading, sewing, and she absolutely loved dancing. Despite her life-long disability, Sylvia had many talents including a love for poetic words. She started her own business SYLVIA’S UNIQUE DESIGNS, which was a greeting card company. With a love for people she enjoyed teaching others about Jehovah‘s kingdom and was a devout Jehovah’s Witness for over 60 years. Sylvia aided many people into the truth and helped them come to love Jehovah.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by five brothers, Emerson Stewart, Stanley Stewart, Grafton Stewart, David Stewart, & Christopher Stewart Jr.; Two sisters, Dolores Davis & Joyce Stewart; Two grandchildren, Jamine Christopher Baker, Echo Kristopher Nichols as well as her late husband Leon Wilson whom she was married to for 36 years until his death in 2015.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her two children, Tyandra Denise Baker (David) of Havertown, PA and Leilanimoon Nicoèl Nichols (Kris) of Virginia Beach, VA. One Step son, James Smith of Easton, MD. Two Step daughters, Cynthia Carter of Easton, MD and Pamela Kempf of Lewes, DE. 12 grandchildren: LaTasha Smith, Joel David Baker, Jordan Almay Baker, Jeorgie Kempf, Diana Kempf, Lauren Krisette Nichols, Nina Kristina Nichols-Methany, Isaiah Vicenté, Rudi Vicenté, Ramsey Krisean Nichols, Stormii Kriselle Nichols & Halo Kristiana Nichols.

Sylvia also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and 3 Great-Grandchildren.  There will be a memorial service starting at 2pm, Saturday, July 5, 2025, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3662 Humboldt St., Norfolk, VA 23513.  Please post your fondest condolences to the family during this difficult time on the Cremation Society of Virginia’s website.
