Edith Simpson Moore, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, in Chesapeake, VA, at the age of 79. Born on September 30, 1945, in Virginia, Edith lived a life filled with warmth, love, and dedication to her family and passions.
Edith’s professional journey was marked by her work with BB&T Banking, where she applied her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment as a title entry specialist. Her colleagues remember her as a steadfast presence, always ready to lend a helping hand or an encouraging word.
Outside of her career, Edith found joy in the simplest of pleasures. She was an early riser, embracing each day with enthusiasm and gratitude. Her love for gardening was well-known among those close to her; she cultivated not just plants but also lasting relationships and cherished memories. Edith had an insatiable appetite for reading, drawing inspiration and comfort from the written word.
Above all, Edith treasured spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Julie Weaver, and son, Paul Moore. Her grandchildren, Alexis and Shane Moore, held a special place in her heart, filling her life with laughter and pride. Edith’s legacy extends through many nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members and friends, each touched by her kindness and generosity.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl Simpson, Sr. and Edith Moore Simpson, whose loving spirits surely welcomed her with open arms.
Though Edith has departed from this world, she leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and a life well-lived. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her, reminding us all of the beauty that lies in simplicity and the power of enduring love.
