Virginia Beach ~ Frona Justice Zimmerman, aged 87, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, in Virginia Beach, VA. Born on June 22, 1938, in Julian, WV, Frona lived a life marked by determination, resilience, and a deep love for her family and passions.
Frona’s journey through life was one of hard work and dedication. In her early years, she embarked on a career as a Keypunch operator, showcasing her keen attention to detail and diligence. In West Virginia, she excelled as an office clerk. Here, she managed data on Excel spreadsheets, meticulously tracking sales trends with a motivated and hardworking spirit that never wavered. Remarkably, Frona continued her professional endeavors in Florida until she retired in 2021 at the age of 84, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance and commitment.
Beyond her career, Frona found joy in the art of quilting and sewing. Her talent was recognized when she received an award for one of her quilts, a testament to her creativity and skill. She cherished moments spent reading, making delicious pies or other family favorites, and while living in West Virginia she always looked forward to her summer vacations in Florida, where the ocean breeze rejuvenated her soul.
Frona’s faith was an integral part of her life. She was a devoted member of Bayside Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, VA, and Grace Baptist Church in Belleview, FL, where she found community and solace in her spiritual journey.
Frona met Bud Zimmerman on a blind date, and it was love at first sight. They married on June 15, 1963 and shared 52 wonderful years together until Bud’s passing in 2015. Together, they built a life filled with love and adventure, moving from Charleston, WV, to Florida in the 1990s.
Frona was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jack and Ora Justice; her husband, Bud Zimmerman; brothers, Jake and Phillip Justice; sisters, Pauline Rudy and her husband, Richard, and Mary Alene Justice; and her nephew, Tony Justice.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her sister-in-laws, Joyce Justice and Frances Anne Justice; nieces, Lynn Duke and her husband, Hal; Tami Glaze and her husband, Jim; Jenny Carden and her husband, Rich; and nephew, Nate Rudy and his wife, Bess Fairfield.. Her loving spirit will also be remembered by her many great-nieces and nephews, as well as countless dear friends.
Frona’s life will be celebrated privately as she is laid to rest in Florida, surrounded by the love of those who held her dear. Her memory will forever inspire those she leaves behind to live with purpose, warmth, and an unwavering spirit.
