David M. Lambert, age 81, surrounded by his loving wife and two devoted daughters went home to be with his Lord Jesus on Friday, August 8th, 2025.
Dave was born on January 6, 1944. He was the son of Marshall and Lennie Lambert of Newport News. He was a graduate of Warwick High School and went on to work for IBM for over 40 years. He began his career repairing typewriters, then copiers and eventually mainframe computers. His office was located at his main account, Newport News Shipbuilding.
He grew up attending Warwick River Mennonite Church. As an adult, he was an active member of Warwick Assembly of God, and currently All Generations Church. He served in various positions including usher, deacon, and member of the choir. He especially enjoyed serving alongside his wife and daughters on youth mission trips, affectionately known as “Work Camps.”
His hobbies included building model RC airplanes and sail boats which he enjoyed flying and sailing. He was an amateur (ham) radio operator, spending countless hours connecting with fellow operators around the world. He also enjoyed woodworking and was a weather enthusiast. He greatly enjoyed being outdoors: gardening, fishing, camping and biking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Lennie Lambert, brother Norman Lambert, and sister Doris Rogers. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Donna; daughters Amy (Stacy) McDonald Stone and April (Russell) Robertson; two grandsons, Justice McDonald and Jadon Robertson; sisters Lois Lambert and Esther (Omar) Zimmerman; sister-in-law Grace Lambert; Aunt Ruth Tickle; five nieces: Jenny, Marie, Holly, Laura, Winter ; and several cousins.
He is greatly missed and we look forward to seeing him again. In lieu of flowers or donations the family would be honored by your presence on August 30th, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 5:00pm for a drop in reception at 1741 Lafayette Drive Hampton, VA 23664
