Portsmouth, VA – With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Justin Robert Lewis.
Justin Robert Lewis, 39, was born on March 25, 1986, and passed away on August 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure that will be remembered always.
Justin lived life with a free spirit and an open heart. He found peace in the beauty of nature, whether standing at the ocean’s edge or exploring the quiet strength of the mountains. He had a passion for riding his motorcycle, a joy that reflected his adventurous soul and love of the open road. Justin also had a deep love for animals — all animals — and cared for them with kindness and compassion.
He is survived by his father, O. Bruce Lewis; his stepfather, Chananwat Chang Ngoen; his mother, Jeanne Hannan Taylor; and his stepfather, William E. Taylor. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Shannan Johnson and stepbrothers, Christopher Neil Newman, Richard Lee Newman, Nicholas Bruce Newman and extended family.
Those who knew Justin will remember his adventurous spirit, kind heart, and the way he brought light into the lives of others.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Portsmouth Moose Lodge, 1400 George Washington Hwy N., Chesapeake, VA 23323 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather, share memories, and honor Justin’s life.
Justin’s memory will live on in every sunset over the ocean, every mountain view, every winding road, and in the love for animals he carried so deeply.
