Continue ReadingJohn Michael Dolan III, 81, of Hartfield, Virginia, passed away on August 20, 2025. He was born on December 12, 1943, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late John Michael Dolan Jr. and Linda Priddy Dolan.
John was a devoted husband, brother, and friend. He loved life on the water and was an active member of the Richmond Sail and Power Squadron. Boating brought him great joy, but his greatest love was his wife, Hannah, with whom he shared a lifetime of devotion and companionship.
Education was a central part of John’s life. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University, his Master of Science from the University of Richmond, and his Ph.D. in Biology from Virginia Tech. He went on to share his knowledge and passion for science throughout his career.
He is survived by his loving wife, Hannah Dolan; his siblings, Ed Dolan, Donna Jackson, and Faye Dolan; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Michael Dolan Jr. and Linda Priddy Dolan, as well as his brother, Steve Dolan.
John’s memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
