James Muir, 68, of Virginia Beach passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Born on January 30, 1957 in Cumberland, Maryland. Son of James Muir in Lonaconing, Maryland and he was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Muir and brother, Dan.

James is survived by his wife, Cheryl of 49 years, one son, James Muir, Jr. and his wife, Kniesha and 2 grandchildren, Jay and Carter from Shawnee, Kansas. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters and many loving family members. Jim was retired from the US Navy and Stihl, Inc. of Virginia Beach. In his spare time he enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers in football and watching both the NY Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles baseball teams play. My friend , roommate , shipmate . We can never forget body surfing in hurricanes ,watching UFO's over the sub base in Rota Spain . I guess we know what we saw and we will take to our graves . Rest in peace my friend .

so sorry Sherry. he was the best. as a kid he was like a big brother to me. always looked out for me. little league teammates 3 years in a row including one with ed. more importantly a great person. you will be missed buddy.
