Alva A. Robinson, born on April 6, 1953, in El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 72.
Alva was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. She had a deep passion for genealogy, spending countless hours tracing her family’s roots and sharing stories with loved ones. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
A proud member of the National Democratic Society, Alva valued education and lifelong learning. She earned her high school diploma and went on to achieve an associate degree, setting an example of dedication and perseverance for those around her.
Alva is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Leonard A. Huffman and Margaret Annie Huffman, her dear sister Deborah Ann, and her brother Bruce Stanfill. She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her legacy: her devoted daughter Heather Unruh and son-in-law Lt. Colonel Nick Unruh, her adored grandson Lucian Unruh, her sister Patti Graybeal, and her brother Ed Huffman.
In accordance with her wishes, a private Celebration of Life will be held at her home at a later date. Alva’s family invites those who knew her to remember her spirit and the love she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her.
