Alan Raymond Moore, 75, first born son of Gene and Eleanor Moore, passed peacefully at 2:11pm on October 27th, 2025 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Alan was born in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.  After moving with his Naval family to many different US locations, he settled in Virginia Beach where he started numerous creative businesses and developed a love of sailing. Evenings and weekends he could be found with many of his sailing friends at the marina or out on the waves with ‘Trouble’. He was also an enthusiastic surfer, even traveling to Hawaii to test his skill on larger waves.

Alan was renowned for loving and living life to the fullest. Every day with Alan was party day! He will be missed by his mother and four siblings and their families as well as a large contingent of the sailing community.

A memorial for Alan will be held in the spring.  Date and location to be announced.
