Alexis Michel Campbell-Hutchison, 36, of Chesapeake, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Born in Decatur, Georgia, she grew up in the Alpharetta and Kennesaw areas and graduated from Kell High School in Marietta, Georgia. She attended Georgia Perimeter College in Atlanta. In 2015 Alexis moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia to start a new chapter in her life and to be near her twin sister. In Virginia she built a life filled with love, creativity, and close connections.
She is survived by her husband, Cameron Campbell-Hutchison of Chesapeake, Virginia; her father and stepmother, Michael and Susan Campbell of Johns Creek, Georgia; her mother, Carol Self of Louisiana; and her grandmother, Ellen Campbell of Sulphur, Louisiana. Alexis is also survived by her twin sister, Andrea Grippon, and husband, Andrew Grippon of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her brother, Ethan Campbell of Athens, Georgia; her stepsisters, Meagan Robillard and husband, Scott Robillard of Euharlee, Georgia, and Rebecca Seidl of Athens, Georgia; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Aidan Grippon, Mabel Grippon, Nolan Robillard, Joel Robillard, Dean Robillard, and Declan Hutchison.
Alexis loved to travel and was able to see a large portion of Europe, South and Central America, the United States, and Bermuda. Alexis loved to read, cook, game, crochet, craft, and spend time with her cherished fur babies. She loved to fish, camp, hike, and boat. She enjoyed sitting around a camp fire with family and friends. Alexis found humor in many aspects of life and shared it freely. A self-described wallflower, she found joy in the comfort of home and in quiet moments shared with those she loved. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her loyalty, and her deep capacity to care for others.
Alexis’ presence will be profoundly missed and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
