Kenneth Carlton Bass, born on May 10, 1959, in Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away on November 17, 2025, in Hudgins, Virginia, at the age of 66. His life was a testament to the values of hard work, dedication, and love for family.
Kenny exhibited a natural talent for mechanics, a passion that would define his life’s work. As a skilled mechanic, he spent countless hours under the hood of a car, transforming ordinary vehicles into extraordinary machines. His love for hot rods and all things automotive was infectious, inspiring those around him to appreciate the art of tinkering and repair. Whether it was a complex engine overhaul or a simple lawn mower fix. Kenny was the go-to Mr. Fix-It for his family and friends, always ready to lend a helping hand.
He found peace and joy in fishing and boating, often sharing these moments with those he loved most. His deep connection to nature mirrored his approach to life—patient, thoughtful, and ever optimistic.
A proud Eagle Scout and a graduate of Deep Creek High School’s class of 1977, Kenny embodied the principles of integrity and service. His commitment to these values was evident in every aspect of his life, from his work to his personal relationships.
Family was Kenny’s greatest treasure. He shared an unbreakable bond with his daughter Brittany Bass, and cherished every moment spent with her. He is also survived by stepmother Kathryn Bass, his siblings, Tony, Tracy, Tina (predeceased) and Terry, were his lifelong companions, sharing in the joys and challenges of life. Kenny’s legacy of love extends to his stepchildren, Amber and Ashley, his beloved grandchildren, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. Kenny is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth M. Bass and Nancy Kinnear.
Though he has departed from this world, Kenny leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering love. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him, reminding us to cherish each moment and hold our loved ones close.
