Ruth Maria Worlds was born December 7, 1968 at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Rota, Spain, and passed away on December 14th, 2025 at the age of 57, in Virginia Beach, VA. Ruth fought a strong and courageous battle with cancer, her strong will never waning. She was preceded in death by her mother, Amalia (Maria) Paredes Hosang, and her son, Aynsley Antonio Worlds. She is survived by: her father, Robert Hosang, her daughter, Ashly Worlds, her son, Angelo Worlds (wife Angel), and her granddaughter, Zaniya Worlds Barrow. Her siblings: Mercedes Coates (husband Durmon), Alice Titsis (husband Harris), Michael Hosang (wife Brenna), and Jessica Hosang. Ruth’s nieces and nephews: Yianni Titsis, Despina Titsis, Mercedes Ramirez, Ethan Coates, Zech Coates, and extended family in Spain.
Ruth was known for her sense of humor, always ready with a joke, typically at the expense of one of her siblings or Dad, but laughter could always be expected in her presence. She had the perfect impression of her mother’s voice, always ready to remind us of fond memories of our mom. The only thing she loved more than her family was dogs, her dog, Loki, by her side until her very last moment on earth.
A private family memorial will be held to honor Ruth’s wishes. Our family is forever grateful for the outpouring of support and compassion over the last fifteen months, as well as the efforts of her Oncologist, Dr. K. DiNardo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory, so the suffering of others may be eased.
