Alice Marie Pankow passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on December 15, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 95. She was born on December 4, 1930, in Newark, New Jersey to the late Agnes and Fred Stauss. Also preceding her in death were her husband of 49 years, Michael Pankow; sister, May McDonough; brother, Fred Stauss; step-daughter, Lorraine Jones; and step-granddaughter, Donna Jones.
Alice was a devoted homemaker whose life was centered around her family and home. She spent the majority of her life in New Jersey, where she cultivated a love for reading, gardening, sewing and traveling with her beloved husband, Michael. Alice and Michael were very involved with their church family as well. In 2013, Alice relocated to Virginia Beach to be closer to her daughter, marking a new chapter in her life filled with cherished moments with family and new friends.
Above all, Alice found joy in the company of her loved ones. Her family was her greatest pride, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She recently celebrated her 95th birthday with those she held dear.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Michelle Trent (Jeff); her step-children, Ronald Pankow (Linda) and John Pankow (Joanne); her step-daughter-in-law, Joan Pankow; her step son-in-law, Bill Jones; her grandchildren: Savannah, Julia, Barbara, Linda, Kenny, Kristin, Leslie, Denise, and Michael; her great-grandchildren: Lance, Aleena, Sydnee, Isabella, and Sophia; along with many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
A private celebration of Alice’s life will be held at a later date. Alice will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
