Joann Elizabeth Fuller, born on April 5, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, in Newport News, Virginia, at the age of 76.
Joann was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. For 20 years she owned Clean & Shine Services with her best friend Faye Reardon. After retiring Joann worked in the wholesale flower business.
Her life was filled with family gatherings, where she delighted in having cookouts, crab feasts, and BBQs with all family and friends. Joann was an enthusiastic participant in her local bowling league at Indian River Lanes in Chesapeake, Virginia, where she enjoyed many games alongside her three best friends. Her love for Bingo and the vacations she took with her dear friends Eleanor Brickhouse, Faye Reardon and Janette Goodman were among her cherished pastimes.
Joann was an active member of the FOE Ladies Auxiliary 795 South Norfolk Chesapeake, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed to her community.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donnie L. Fuller; her parents, Ann and William Jester; her siblings, Barbara, Patricia, Billy, John, and Tom; and her nephews, Joe Ford, David Fuller, and Keith Gregory, as well as her brother-in-law, James Fuller.
Joann leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: her daughters, Lisa Fuller and Ronda Smith and her husband, Mark; her cherished grandchildren, Ryan Fuller, Jordon Smith, and Morgon Smith; and her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Abigail, and Olivia Fuller. She is also survived by her brother, William Jester; sister-in-law, Linda Cain; her extended family, Billy and Annette Fuller, Bob and Jane Gregory; brother-in-law, Tony Fuller; sister-in-law, Rachel Freeman; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins spanning over four generations; special family members Kenny and Matt Reardon, Sabrina Reardon Venery, and Rae Guernsey. Joann was a special Memaw to Kyle and Tyler Carley. Her memory will be forever treasured by her family and friends.
At this time, no services are planned. Joann’s family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time and encourages those who knew her to remember her fondly and celebrate her life in their own special ways.
