South Mills, NC – Tony Damon Weaver, a cherished son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 66. Born on April 8, 1959, in Virginia, Tony lived a life marked by dedication and service.

Tony proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy, where he developed skills that would lead to a fulfilling career as an Electronics Technician at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. His commitment to his work and his country was unwavering, and he will be remembered for his steadfast dedication. Tony walked his own path of belief, guided by compassion and understanding.

Preceded in death by his beloved parents, John Wesley Weaver, Sr. and Emma Lee Williams Weaver, and his brother, John Wesley Weaver, Jr., Tony leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his brothers, Hershell Lee Weaver of Hertford, NC, and George Henry Weaver of South Mills, NC, as well as his sister, Amy Louisa Murphy, and her husband, Harry, of Suffolk, VA.

I returned to NNSY in 2006, after many years in private modern cnc machine shops, and quickly became friends with Tony. He was a dedicated professional electronics tech that worked tirelessly to keep the machines running. We spent many hours working together on the huge old Monument mill which was a dinosaur retrofitted with cnc electronic controls. His skills were detrimental and his loyalty to serving the fleet was always his priority. After I moved to another code we stayed in touch. Any time I visited B171 he was the 1st person I sought out. I started a home manual/cnc shop before retiring and he helped me to better understand the electronics associated with my own maintenance and repairs. He could have easily worked at, and been successful, at any other modern shop. Tony was a great person, a joy to be around, and a true patriot. I am sad for his passing and greatly appreciate his friendship. Rest in peace. My heartfelt condolences to his family.
