Smithfield, VA – Dorothea Ann “Dee” Hill, born on April 5, 1951, in Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, in Newport News, VA, at the age of 74. Dee was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.
Dee spent her career as a dedicated Project Manager in the construction industry, where she was known for her meticulous attention to detail and her unwavering commitment to her work. Beyond her professional life, Dee’s greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved family and friends. Her home was often filled with laughter and love, a testament to her generous spirit and welcoming nature.
She was preceded in death by her father, Reginald Erman, and her devoted husband, William M. Hill. Dee leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: her son, Eric Adam Stover of Smithfield, VA; her daughter, Nichole Virginia Rice of Chesapeake, VA; three sisters; one brother; six grandchildren, Alec Olsen, Hannah Cook, Madison Stover, Andrew Stover, Adley Stover, and Luke Stover; and two great-grandchildren, Charlotte Cook and Nolan Cook. Each of them carries forward her memory and the values she instilled in them.
