Aleta June Westfall, a devoted wife and beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 70. Born on May 9, 1955, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Aleta lived a life full of adventure, compassion, and dedicated service.
Aleta began her journey serving her country in the Army, where her commitment to duty and respect for others were evident to all who served alongside her. Following her military service, she pursued a career in education, sharing her love of learning with countless students across various schools. Her dedication to shaping young minds culminated in her tenure at the University of West Virginia, where she inspired many with her passion for teaching.
A free spirit at heart, Aleta was an avid traveler, exploring the world with an insatiable curiosity and appreciation for diverse cultures. In her personal time, she could often be found at her computer, embracing the digital age with enthusiasm and skill. Her love for animals was profound, and she opened her heart and home to numerous rescue animals, providing them with comfort and affection.
Aleta was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Andrew “Bob” and Helen Westfall. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Michael “Mike” Agresto, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, distant family members, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held. Aleta’s family encourages those who wish to honor her memory to consider making a donation to the ASPCA, reflecting her deep love for animals and her enduring legacy of kindness.
