I believe I was one of Dr. Jackson's first patients when he started his practice in Haygood. I appreciated his genuine care and his colorful personality Our world was a better place with him in it. Rest in peace my friend...

Betty, We are so very sorry for your loss. This is no doubt that Pat was one of a kind. Being a neighbor for close to 30 years, Pat was like family. We will always remember in fondness the many “dog party evenings”, his wealth of knowledge, love of dogs, and willingness to go out of his way to help by taking us to medical appointments, to pick up cars, etc. He will be and already is so very missed. With all our sympathies, Mark Young and Jennifer McElwee

Pat was one of those men who leaves a gentle yet lasting mark on your life. I was fortunate to be among the French students whom Pat and Betty welcomed as if we were already part of their family. I will always remember those days spent on Pat’s boat, discovering the bay, the dolphins… and, through him, a generous, curious, and deeply human America. Pat had a big heart, always ready to share, to teach, and to introduce others to the things he loved. To me, he will always represent true hospitality and rare kindness. My thoughts are with you, Betty.

I am saddened to hear about Dr. Jackson. He was my favorite eye doctor and I missed not seeing him when he retired. Not only was he a great doctor, but he was very nice to be around and interesting to talk to. I should have known he was a dog lover; most "Animal People" are special! Please know that he touched a lot of lives in his practice, and that he was appreciated. My prayers are with his wife and the rest of his family.

I am truly saddened to learn of Pat's passing. I counted him as a long time friend and colleague. We sat together at many optometry meetings and he always regaled me with his "Dad" jokes. I will miss him tremendously.

Pat was the best neighbor, best friend and one of the best men I will ever meet. He and I had so many good times together. He was a breed of his own. The stories I have told to other people about he and I makes them want to meet Pat. People that never met Pat feel like they know him because of the things I said of him. I will always think of the good times we had together. I still think of Pat every time I sip on my Cognac after a good meal and I always will. He is the one that got me started on that. Heaven has received a great man.
