Michael Dennis Sheehy, aged 83, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, in Virginia Beach, VA. Born on September 3, 1942, in Troy, New York, Michael lived a life marked by dedication, love, and integrity.
Throughout his career, Michael was known for his unwavering commitment and leadership as a District Manager at Price Choppers. His work ethic and passion for his job were evident to all who had the privilege of working alongside him. Michael also served honorably in the Army National Guard from 1961 to 1968, exemplifying his devotion to his country and embodying the values of service and duty.
A fervent sports fan, Michael’s love for baseball and football was infectious. He cherished the Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Dodgers, and his enthusiasm for sports was only matched by his deep love for his family. Whether cheering for his favorite teams or enjoying a game with family and friends, Michael found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Known for his sense of humor, he often brought smiles to those around him, playfully quoting, “You’re a good man, Charlie Brown.” His obsession with the TV show “Survivor” was legendary; he never missed an episode since its inception in 2000.
Michael was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John and Anna Sheehy. He is survived by his cherished wife of 43 years, Theresa Sheehy; his three loving sons, Ryan, Michael, and Chris; and his devoted daughter, Erin and seven grandchildren. His legacy lives on through them, as well as the many friends who were touched by his kindness and strength. As a father and husband, he always went above and beyond to provide for and support his family.
In keeping with his humble spirit, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memories of Michael be cherished and shared within the hearts of those who knew him.
