Patricia Wells Kay (aka Pat and PK) passed away peacefully at home on January 15th, 2026 at the age of 98.

Pat was born December 30, 1927 in Patterson, NJ, to Harry J Wells and Helen Goode Wells.  After spending much of her life in the north, her and her husband, Donald F. Kay, relocated to Virginia Beach in the 1950s. Pat first started in real estate in Virginia Beach. Then in her 50s, she decided she wanted to become a registered nurse.  She graduated from nursing school and worked at Virginia Beach General Hospital for nearly 30 years.  Pat dedicated her life to the service and care of others.  Her nurturing spirit and compassionate nature were the hallmarks of her long and fulfilling career.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Donald F. Kay and son Craig D. Kay.  Pat leaves behind her daughter, Kerri Kay Willey (Mike), her granddaughter Krystin W. Malbon (John) and grandsons Wyatt and Wade Malbon.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 16th at Big Sam’s, 300 Winston Salem Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA, from 3-5PM.  Bring a story you would like to share and enjoy a cocktail or two to celebrate Pat’s life.
