Christopher Bruce Boyce, a beloved father, friend, and inspiration to many, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, in Hampton, VA, just shy of his 60th birthday. Born on April 26, 1966, in Portsmouth, VA, Chris lived a life rich with love, creativity, and compassion.
Despite facing challenges as a disabled individual, Chris demonstrated resilience and a zest for life that inspired those around him. He poured his heart into his passions, including cooking, drawing, and solving crossword puzzles. One of his greatest joys was teaching his daughter, Shanon Blackburn, the art of cooking, passing down not just recipes but also a legacy of love and care.
A devoted fan of Robert Plant, Chris found solace and joy in music, allowing it to speak to his soul and uplift his spirit. His kindness and empathy were evident in his dedication to helping those who had fallen through the cracks, always striving to make a difference in the lives of others.
Chris’s faith played a significant role in his life. As a member of Ivy Memorial Baptist Church in Hampton, VA, he found community and strength. His commitment to personal growth was reflected in his achievement of earning his GED, a testament to his determination and perseverance.
Preceded in death by his father, Waverly Boyce, Chris leaves behind his cherished daughter, Shanon Blackburn, along with countless friends and community members who will miss his warmth and generosity.
