Randolph (Randy) Sean O’Neill, born on April 19, 1963, in London, England, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 63.
A pioneer in children’s health and wellness, Randy dedicated his life to promoting fitness and education. He served as the CEO of Virginia is for Education, traveling across the state to bring fitness and fun to K-12 kids with his custom-made stationary bike trailer. Earlier in his career, he modeled for Modelogic, showcasing his versatility and charisma. A man of many talents, his background in construction resulted in many successful projects, including restoring historic St. John’s Baptist Church in Richmond, VA and building his own house.
Randy was an avid skier, a passion instilled in him by his father, Bill, who taught him to ski at the tender age of five. His adventurous spirit led him to become an accomplished entrepreneur and inventor, creating numerous health and fitness devices. Among his many innovations was the Sport Board, which gained national attention when featured on ABC’s TV Show “The Toy Box.”
An All-American patriot and lover of his country, Randy’s legacy extends beyond his professional achievements. He was inducted into The Christchurch School Athletic Hall of Fame, a testament to his dedication and talent in athletics. His educational journey included schooling at Walsingham Academy, Lafayette High School, and Christchurch School, where he formed lifelong friendships and developed his passion for sports and learning.
Randy was preceded in death by his loving parents, William O’Neill and Cynthia Berenguer-O’Neill, and his cherished sister, Kathleen O’Neill. He leaves behind his beloved children, son Roman O’Neill and stepdaughter Gabrielle Lott, along with his former partner and devoted caregiver, Patricia Lott. His loyal K9 companion, Moose, also mourns his passing.
In keeping with his family’s wishes, private services will be held to honor Randy’s memory. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories of his kindness, ingenuity, and larger-than-life personality.
