Robert Lane White, a devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 73. He was born on January 24, 1953, in Florida, and lived a life defined by dedication, integrity, and quiet strength.
He is remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family and his work. Over the years, Robert brought his passion and expertise to the Seafood Department at Whole Foods, where he served as a manager. His colleagues remember him as a mentor and leader who consistently encouraged those around him to strive for excellence.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert and Margaret White, and his brother-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Story.
Robert leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance. He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Deborah White; his stepchildren, Jeremy Correia and Rebekah Stauffer and her husband, Matt. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Teresa “Terri” Story who was like a sister to him; his niece, Kelli Barrett and her husband, Jarrod Spector; and his nephew, Thomas Story and his daughter, Evelyna.
Robert’s favorite football team was the Miami Dolphins. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—coming home after work, enjoying a drink, watching a good show, and being surrounded by family.
At this time, no services are planned; however, the family may choose to hold a private gathering after they have had time to grieve.
Robert’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His kindness, strength, and devotion to family remain his enduring legacy.
