

Cindy Michelle Hamilton, born on June 10, 1940, in Chesterfield, VA, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, in Suffolk, VA, at the age of 85.
Cindy was a beloved homemaker who devoted her life to nurturing her family and sharing her passions with those around her. Her love for singing and gospel music brought joy to many hearts, and her home was often filled with the comforting aroma of her cooking, which she prepared with the same love and care that she extended to everyone she met. A devout member of New Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Norfolk, Cindy’s faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She found solace and inspiration in watching devotionals and shared her spiritual warmth with all who knew her.
A caring and loving soul, Cindy was known for her kind heart and welcoming spirit. Her generosity and compassion left an indelible mark on her community and her family, who always felt embraced by her unwavering support.
Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Essie Hamilton, her life partner and best friend, Willie Joyner, her daughter, Kimberly Faulkner, her grandson, Nathaniel Walton, Jr., and her thirteen siblings: Ruby Chapman, Louise McMullin, Vernisha Boyd, Kenatha Hamilton, Merarle Roberts, Elease Jones, Sylatha Burton, Annie Pearl Roberts, Marie Hamilton, Antis Hamilton, McIver “Mac” Hamilton, Lonnie Hamilton, and Oscar Hamilton, Jr.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience in her surviving son, Darrille Hamilton; her cherished grandchildren, Ciara Hamilton and Darrille Hamilton, Jr.; and her four great-grandchildren, Keywon Cherry, Kai Hamilton, Ka’oir Hamilton, and Kashton Cox. She will also be fondly remembered by her close friend, Catherine Coley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who were like family.
A private celebration of Cindy’s life will be held, allowing her loved ones to honor her memory in a way that reflects the deep and personal connections she fostered throughout her life.
Cindy Michelle Hamilton’s life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and kindness. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
