Words cannot even begin to express how difficult this is for all of us. Clearly, she was your biological Mom, but she was my second Mom. I am still in shock of her passing, and I cannot stop thinking about her, and both of you, Elisa and Tanya. We spent the majority of our first 20 years of our lives together. She will always be our Mom & have a very special place in our hearts and minds forever. There was absolutely no one else like Momma Hurwitz. I would love it if we could plant a Memorial Garden together for her in the Spring or Summer and spend some quality time together to continue honor her and to bond as we all heal from the loss of her. In the meantime, your second Mom, Mother Bates, and I are always here for you both. Don’t hesitate to reach out for help or just to reconnect at any time. We love you with our whole hearts and are always here for you. Peace, Love, and Light...always, Liz and Ruth Bates

We are so very sorry. The world is definitely a less interesting place without Lyn. She set such a good example with her drive and chic style. I will miss her spark at our Point 'O View summer luncheon. Sending love to all.

Tanya and Elisa- Your mother and I got to be buddies- reading the paper together and she would occasionally ask me about issues of the day, some legal. It made me feel like a grown up! She treated me like one of the family. I enjoyed reading the paper and hanging out with her in the sun room. There were long drives to Charlottesville for the medical visits and she always let me know how much she appreciated my driving. We would occasionally have a beer together. Jordy loved it when she would put the cold bottle on his tummy! We got to be good friends. The biggest contribution she made to the world is her offspring. Tanya and Elisa, you guys are wonderful, beautiful, sweet, sexy (definitely from her!!) and caring ladies. Great job Lyn!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know this is a very difficult time for the family. Something that has always given me comfort is a scripture at Revelation 21:4, it says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” I sincerely hope this brings you some comfort. Please go to jw.org for more information.

Elisa and Tanya...There are just no words to describe to you both how very sorry we feel about Lyn's passing. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor for 25 years with way too many memories to share on here but you both know that. We are both better people for knowing her. She will be sadly missed by us and our fur kids.
