Linda died peacefully in her home surrounded by family at her side. She will be lovingly remembered by the love of her life for over 40 years, Leslie Wayne Unruh.
Survived by daughter, Diane Vaccarella; step daughters, Cathy Unruh, Melissa Felthousen, Holly Unruh and step son, Gary Unruh; granddaughters, Kristen Krause and fiancé, Joey DePasquale, Tyler Felthousen, Ashley Matheny and wife Heather and Baylea Brauner; great grandson and greatest joy and playmate, who always made her laugh, Braxton Krause; sister, Betty Perry; and special friends, Greg Wainscott, Connie Burdick, little Joey, her fur baby, Sally Mae and many others.
Predeceased by her parents, Church and Gwendolyn Carroll; sister, Senora A. Cahill brother, Rudolph “Sonny” Stallings Jr. and long time family friend, Richard “Smitty” Schmidt.
Linda was born in Norfolk, Va. on July 29, 1947. Graduated from Maury High school and attended ODU. Linda retired from the US Attorneys Office after 31 years as a Computer Network Manager.
She loved her garden, house plants and reading, and prayed to live long enough to read Durants “History of the World.” She almost made it! She loved family time; including fishing, hiking, collecting shells and sitting on the porch doing crossword puzzles and Sudoku. Her love of computers infected her family and at times there were five or six computers running or being repaired at home. The dining room table was often sacrificed in this effort, plus being a gaming center for the neighborhood kids and her RPG!!!
Linda requested that no memorial services be held beyond lifting a Scotch & soda and remembering her mark on your life in passing.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer society. And a big thank you to Virginia Oncology Associates.BLA BLA BLA!!!

I worked with Linda for a number of years. When I think of Linda, I always remember her contagious smile. I also will never forget traveling with her on business trips and not being able to pass a garden of flowers without Linda stopping to capture a seed or two from the blooming flowers to take with her to plant in her garden. I also remember Linda had a taste for sweets. Linda, I will eat a piece of dark chocolate you so fondly loved in your honor and smile thinking of the great smiles and times we shared.
